Last updated: 26 June 2026
1. Who we are
Immigranter ("we", "us", "our") is a practice management platform for migration agents and immigration lawyers, operated at immigranter.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use our service.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at support@immigranter.com.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account information — when you register, we collect your name, email address, and practice details. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
Billing information — payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details. We retain records of your plan, billing period, and transaction history.
Client and case data — any client records, application details, checklists, documents, and communications you enter into Immigranter. This data belongs to your practice. We process it on your behalf.
Documents — files uploaded by you or your clients through the client portal are stored in private cloud storage. Access is controlled by time-limited links.
Usage data — we collect logs of how the application is used (page visits, feature interactions, errors) to operate and improve the service. This data does not include the content of your client files.
Client portal activity — when your clients access their portal, we record access events including IP address, browser information, and timestamps. This data is visible to your practice and forms part of the approval audit trail.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Immigranter service - Process billing and manage your subscription - Send transactional emails (account verification, portal access links, support responses) - Investigate and resolve support requests - Monitor for security incidents and abuse - Improve the product based on aggregate usage patterns
We do not use your client data for marketing, analytics profiling, or AI model training.
4. Client data and your responsibilities
When you use Immigranter to manage client matters, you are entering personal information about third parties (your clients). As the practice, you are responsible for:
- Having a lawful basis to collect and store your clients' personal information - Informing your clients about how their data is handled - Complying with applicable privacy laws in your jurisdiction
We act as a data processor on your behalf for client data. We do not access client data except to provide the service or respond to a support request you initiate.
5. Sharing your information
We do not sell your information or your clients' information.
We share data with third-party service providers only where necessary to operate the service:
- Stripe — payment processing - Google — authentication (Google Sign-In) - Cloud storage provider — document storage
Each provider is bound by their own privacy policy and data processing agreements. We do not authorise them to use your data for their own purposes.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Immigranter, our users, or others.
6. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers in Australia. Documents are stored in private cloud storage and are not publicly accessible. Staff access documents via secure time-limited links. External sharing links expire after 24 hours.
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls. No system is perfectly secure. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us immediately at support@immigranter.com.
7. Data retention
We retain your account and case data for as long as your subscription is active. If you cancel your subscription, your data is retained for 90 days before permanent deletion, giving you time to export records.
Client portal activity logs (including approval records) are retained for the life of the case record.
If you need access to your data before deletion, contact support@immigranter.com.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@immigranter.com.
If you are an end client of an immigration practice that uses Immigranter, you should contact that practice directly. We will cooperate with reasonable requests from practices on behalf of their clients.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to maintain your session, remember your preferences, and collect usage analytics. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may affect the functionality of the application.
